From the lovely, dense lives we lead at home, packed with moments of all kinds, to some emptiness and space. Good for a man to do, though heartbreaking. We passed a lovely long golden hour through SW Colorado, arriving tonight in Monticello, UT. We were sad to realize the National 9 motel we recorded the basic tracks for “One More Dream” in has now turned into some other chain. We loved how we got to record a song there in 9/8 on a National dobro.

Listened to Paul Simon’s interview on the song “Graceland” in his new reissue. Also to Morten Lauridsen’s “O Nata Lux” at twilight. It’s good to be back - the road goes ever, ever on.
