This song was written around a melody that arrived right around the time the earthquake happened. It is graced with the singing of our newfound friend and collaborator, Moira Smiley.

In some small way, we felt the grief, hopelessness, and the humanity of Haiti, and how this affects all of us.

Since before Round Mountain began as a band in 2002, we have been inspired and welcomed by many communities of world music. One of the first circles that took us in was Eric and Elise Gents’ Haitian and West African dance class, where we drummed, learned songs, and became like family. Their singing and drumming is also part of this recording.

A strong member of that circle is Amber Gray, TRI's founder, who has been working with people and organizations in Haiti for many years, including those listed here.

Through collaboration with friends old and new, we send our hearts and intentions toward healing in Haiti.
Thank you for joining us in doing what we can. Please pass this along to anyone you think might like it.
