The people of Lake City have long been one of our favorite tribes of mountain folk. We got the rock and roll moment of recent memory last night, playing as part of a surprise party for our wonderful friend Amy Jo. Everybody thought the film of us they were seeing was part of a birthday video, then the curtain we were behind came up as we started playing live. It was so ridiculously fun, and we felt the love big time. Funny to be behind a curtain with a big image of yourself playing shining through the back. One of life’s quirky moments of glory.
It was great to to see our beloved Mom and Dad there, in the midst of their Lake City community, and also to reconnect with our Uncle Michel, whose car trip out from Providence mirrored our own songline of late.
Its so wonderful to be loved! Sounds like a great night. I'll have to make it a goal to see Round Mountain play in Lake City. I haven't been there since JAKA played, what was it called, the progressive dinner? Was Colin there?
YES!!!!!
